Eric Carter began working for Sherwood Law Group as an associate attorney in November of 2018. A Texas native, Eric received his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Tyler in December 2014, earning a Bachelor of Arts in English. After undergrad, Eric moved to Chicago to pursue a career in law. Eric earned his law degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law in May 2018, graduating on the Dean's List.
In his second year of law school, Eric interned for the Honorable Justice Robert E. Gordon in the Appellate Court of Illinois. Under justice Gordon, Eric participated in appeals concerning matters of criminal law, family law, and statutory interpretation. After this experience, Eric joined Sherwood Law Group as a clerk for the remainder of his time in law school. His primary duties included responding against dispositive motions in personal injury matters. Eric accrued a positive track record on the cases in which he participated, which allowed the cases to continue in litigation and ultimately achieve favorable settlements for the firm's clients.
Eric passed the July 2018 Illinois bar examination and was sworn in as an attorney in November 2018. As a personal injury attorney, Eric focuses his representation primarily of accident victims including, but not limited to: automobile accidents, wrongful death, premises liability, and construction negligence. Eric makes it a priority to understand the goals of his clients in order to develop a litigation plan specifically designed to each client.
